Good Start on Home Ice

Weekend Summary for Home games V Botany Swarm 27th and 28th May 2017.

Game one Saturday – Final Score 7 – 3 Admirals win.

The first period of the season started off cautiously for both sides but KC Ball of the Swarm broke the tentative start with the first goal half way through the period and both sides began to fire up.

TJ Battani then popped two behind the Swarm goal tender before the end of the 1st period and the Admirals got on a roll. Scoring two in the second and three in the third period, the Admirals eventually wearing down the Swarm for the 7-3 win.

Game two Sunday – Final Score 14 – 0 Admirals win.

After a solid performance Saturday – Sunday was an offensive and controlling show of force for the Admirals. Everyone on the squad performed exceptionally well with Scott Randell and Dale Harrop netting their firsts in the blue jersey.

The first period saw the Admirals rack up five goals with the Swarm on their heels for the remainder of the game. They were unable to keep up with the pace of any of the Admirals units and ended up with a whopping 48 penalty minutes.

Six of our 14 goals were on the Power Play. TJ Battani had a stunning game scoring a double hat-trick.

While the score board tilted one direction, down in our defending end Rick Parry stood on his head for us while the Swarm applied moments of serious pressure. Stone-walling all 23 shots he faced and providing us the first shutout performance of 2017.
